7 Days of Self-Care - Day 7: Trishna Goklani, Social Media Editor, Writer & Influencer

For the final day of my #7daysofselfcare I speak to the beautiful Social Media Editor, Writer & Influencer Trishna Goklani.

Besides her effortlessly cool style, Trishna writes for titles including Nylon & Harpers Bazaar as well as creating content for brands such as Bobbi Brown, Liz Earle Beauty & Accesorize. A women who is always on the fashion pulse, her passion for the subjects she is discussing or the brands she works with is evident through all her work.

So I want to ask how she juggles her own Self-Care amongst her busy life...

What does self-care mean to you?
Self-care to me is prioritising myself and doing what I need to do, whether at the end of every week or every day, to make myself feel good and offload any stress or problem. For me, I love just spending as long as I need at the end of the night taking a nice hot shower and a face mask. Sometimes when I feel really overwhelmed in the day, I step into a really hot shower as well (haha) I think it’s a strange thing to do when I say that out loud but, I always come out feeling so much lighter. Also I always have the best shower thoughts so I guess it works out!

Do you think prioritising our wellbeing is important?
Of course it is! We always have to put ourselves first so we gotta do what we gotta do.

How do you make time for self-care in your around busy schedules?
I always make sure that I have at least one day a week to be with myself, sit around doing nothing, cooking myself an incredible meal and just... not have to speak to anyone haha.

What do you do to relax and rebalance?
Of course in London there’s so much you can do to escape but for me, I love a good hot shower. It always feels like everything just melts away and also I guess it’s nice to use relaxing scents and products to make it a luxurious experience. Also if you’re in and around nature I love going on walks as well. There’s just something about being by a body of water. I wish I lived right next to a beach.

How do you know when you need to take time out to focus on your wellbeing?
I guess for me it comes to a point where I feel like I need to recharge - I love hanging out with my friends and exploring new places but there’s just some days I just love being alone.
